About the Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier

Programs for our meetings may include demonstrations by the Canine Helpers for the Handicapped, veterinarians on health topics, new products for dogs, the sport of dog sledding, show handling, obedience training, and breeding and puppies. We also offer handling classes. As you can see, many of our programs apply to any dog breeds, not just Siberian Huskies!

We are dedicated to promoting informed and ethical breeding of dogs as well as responsible dog ownership. We will tell you honestly, the pitfalls and pleasures of owning a Siberian Husky. Our meetings are informal and are attended by humans and canines.

Our club is also now AKC sanctioned.

Events

The Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier hosts two major events: Paws of Thunder and a dual Siberian Specialty Show and Sweepstakes.

Paws of Thunder is a dry land cart race held annually on the second Saturday of November at the Niagara Hartland RV Resort. Paws of Thunder started in 2008 and has been growing ever since. Events include six dog, four dog and two dog gigs and canicross. Paws of Thunder is free and open to the public. Additional details will be posted leading up to the race.

The Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier dual Siberian Specialty Show and Sweepstakes is held annually in May in conjunction with the Seneca Siberian Husky Club's Specialty shows. Initially started as a single show and sweepstakes in 2004, our show has now grown to one of the largest Siberian shows in the Northeast. Held at the Falletti Ice Arena in Batavia, NY, our Siberian Specialty Show and Sweepstakes are free and open to the public. This is a great chance to see some of the top Siberians and to speak with some of the top breeders of Siberians.

The Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier also participates in numerous events around Western New York. All of our events include the opportunity to meet the dogs and we are happy to speak with prospecitve Siberian owners about the joys of owning a Siberian. During the winter, we do dog sledding demonstrations, at several local winter festivals. Club members are also available to speak at events regarding Siberians and/or dog sledding. Our schedule is filled on a first come first served basis, so please contact us (shcnf.contact.us@gmail.com) as soon as possible if you would like us to participate at your event.
